Ruth's Genealogy

“I don't know who my grandfather was; I am much more concerned to know what his grandson will be.” -Abraham Lincoln

Genealogy friends are wonderful people. Don’t you agree? Tell us about a genealogy friend in your life. How did you meet? Do you share any common ancestors or research interests?

Genealogy friends… I have met so many!

Rather than single out just one person, I’d rather offer my praises to the online genealogy community: those wonderful researchers and webmasters who maintain blogs and websites dedicated to family history research.

I have conversed with many online, in one fashion or another, and all have been friendly, open and willing to share of themselves. There is a wealth of genealogy knowledge and experience out there in cyberland. All you need to do to get help is: ASK!

52 Weeks of Abundant Genealogy by Amy Coffin is a series of weekly blogging prompts (one for each week of 2012) that invite genealogists and others to discuss resources in the genealogy community including websites, applications, libraries, archives, genealogical societies and more. You do not have to be a blogger to participate. If you do not have a genealogy blog, write down your thoughts on your computer, or simply record them on paper and keep them with your files.
