Ruth's Genealogy

“I don't know who my grandfather was; I am much more concerned to know what his grandson will be.” -Abraham Lincoln

I don’t really remember my grandparents’ house having Christmas lights. What I do remember is Christmas Eve when all the family gathered at their house. After dinner, after it had gotten good and dark outside, my Granddad and my uncles Troy and Jack would pile all us grandkids in the car and give us the grand tour of the neighborhood lights. By the way, the houses with blue lights are my favorites…

And what were my Nanny and Aunts Jan and Kathy up to while we were so conveniently out of the house?

Putting out each grandchild’s gifts in a certain part of Nanny’s big living room! We each had our own corners and when we returned from checking out the neighborhood lights, there were several stacks of carefully wrapped packages. My aunts would giggle and aim each of us to our areas, and the wrapping paper and bows would fly!
