“I don't know who my grandfather was; I am much more concerned to know what his grandson will be.” -Abraham Lincoln

Master Justin Lee Chaney, Jr!

JJ was born Friday evening, 12 Jun 2009, weighing in at 6lbs 5oz and 19 inches long. He was born 5 weeks premature and remains in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. He is doing well, but not eating well enough to come home just yet

Indulge me, he’s my first grandson!

“Snuggle with me, Mommie”

“Trying to get some sleep here!”

“Does this come in Dr Pepper flavor?”

“I’m watching you!”

“Me and my Big Sissy Stacie. She is the best Big Sissy ever!”

“Me and my Mommie and my Daddy”

“This newborn stuff is hard work!”

A little more about JJ… or where I’ve been for the past couple of months:

About the the middle part of May, JJ decided he was ready to come into this world. Only problem was, 31 weeks gestation is a little too early to make a grand entrance! So off to the hospital my daughter went, for a week of R & R. That left me and Justin, Sr to keep up with my granddaughter Stacie, as well as the house and the pets. Cool, I took a week of vacation and did my Grammaw routine in front of the big lights!

After a week in the hospital, Debbie was sent home on strictest bedrest, which is torture for her!

A week later, JJ’s wanting to pop out again, so again to the hospital and again enter Super Grammaw/Super Housesitter/Super Pet Taker-Carer. Another week goes by in the hospital, then home.

You see now why I haven’t posted lately?

Another week home and JJ’s knocking again!

This time there’s no stopping him. World, get ready!

(JJ’s arrival was punctuated by an emergency c-section due to hemorrhaging! He does like attention!)

So Friday evening, Master JJ arrived with a lot of fanfare and frayed nerves!

He wasn’t breathing too well at first, so off to the Neonatal Intensive Car Unit he went.

But after a couple of NICU days, his beathing is good, but not eating well enough just yet. So now he has a feeding tube.

But he is so cute and lovable and huggable and snuggleable and… well, you understand 🙂
