“I don't know who my grandfather was; I am much more concerned to know what his grandson will be.” -Abraham Lincoln

I’m planning to go to Hillsboro on Wednesday. As it’s about a 3-hour round trip, I don’t get down there as often as I’d like. So I need to plan ahead to make the most out of the trip!

Part 1: Search the microfilm of the Hillsboro City Library’s various Hill County newspapers for Dr. Kennedy’s obit(s) from 1897, his wife Susan’s obit from 1918, some mention of granddaughter Hallah M Carrico’s death in 1897. Also, get better copies of Miles Francis & Trilla Maryland Stanley’s obits. Maybe find something about Chester Kennedy, also. He’s another one who just seems to have fallen off the planet!

Part 2: Look for info on my RAOGK request from September. Try to find the cemetery for Jabez Ivey and his mother. This request was from Sept and I have never made it down there. First there was Dad’s surgery, then my boss being gone on maternity leave. Excuses, excuses! Basically I just didn’t feel like going down there! I know the guy who requested the info is not happy with me. I must try to make amends!

What to take with me: laptop, digital camera, camera cable, paper, pencils.

Charge the camera’s battery and download all the current pictures, so there will be plenty of room. Download any images taken in the library to the computer while I’m still in the library. I want these pix to turn out right this time!
