“I don't know who my grandfather was; I am much more concerned to know what his grandson will be.” -Abraham Lincoln

I finished with the filing cabinet this evening. Next is the stack of paper and documents on the floor. As I have been going through these files, the light of interest has been re-lit! I want so bad to start search in earnest again! But I have to have a bit of willpower and finish the stack of paper first, and then go through each folder again and add all the data to my Family Tree Maker database. That will be a BIG job!
Not only do I need to get everything into the database, but I really want to get the file folders “standardized”. I want them to look neater and for the data to be really easy to view and study. I have to find something to put the photographs in so they don’t fall out of the folders, a way to protect them, yet still be able to access them. Affordable, of course.
It’s still pretty confusing, dealing with the unmarried female who then becomes the married female, who then must move to another surname folder. I need to come up with some sort of form that I can use to list each item of info about the person, in chronological order.
I guess I’ll start on the “floor files” in the morning!
