Ruth's Genealogy

“I don't know who my grandfather was; I am much more concerned to know what his grandson will be.” -Abraham Lincoln

I have kinda taken some time off from genealogy lately, although I did create a special presentation of family pictures for my grandmother’s 90th birthday on October 4th. Sometimes it’s good to back away from something for awhile. When you come back, you will probably have a fresh outlook and a better attitude! I was getting burned out, so it was time to back off.
However, when I got home from work this afternoon, I had an email from a lady in Illinois who needed a headstone photo from a local cemetery. I am a member of Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness (RAOGK). We look up info or take pictures for people from distant areas who can’t make the trip to where their info is at. So, I spent an hour walking through the cemetery to get the photo. And when I got home, I emailed all the photos and info to my new friend. It’s nice to be able to help people!
